The substantial two-storey Regency period country house was originally built in 1849 and many of the original features remain. The gritstone and granite house stands in its private gardens of approximately 22 acres, with lawns, orchards, an ornamental lake with a fountian, and a Victorian walled garden producing flowers and vegetables for the house.
The house has been extensively renovated to a high standard and now sleeps 16, with further accomodation available in the converted Apple Store (6 double bedrooms) and Laundry Cottage (1 double bedroom).
The ground floor of the house has a large, light family kitchen/breakfast room with seating for 10. With a beautiful slate stone floor, the traditional kitchen has all the modern facilities you would expect, including an integrated dish washer, fridge, large island and a dual fuel range cooker. The kitchen has recently been refurbished and all facilities are new. Off the kitchen is a larder with a walk-in fridge and freezer, and a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dyer.
The drawing room has wonderful garden and lake views, access to the terrace with a round table that seats ten people and a gas barbecue. There is a library with oak bookshelves, a television and a DVD player. The main dining room seats up to 20 people.
Furnishings have all been renewed to a high standard and the furniture is mostly antique. The floor is for the most part sanded wood with rugs scattered throughout. It also features a full height internal hall with a fine oak staircase illuminated by a glass dome.
There are two downstairs cloak rooms.
There are eight beautifully decorated bedrooms including four doubles, two twins and two bunk rooms. There are four rooms with en suite bathrooms, another double has an adjoining bunk room as well as bathroom, and there are two twin rooms sharing one family bathroom.
All the bathrooms at Tresillian have great character and wonderful views. They are fitted out with high quality sanitary ware. All en suite bathrooms have noth bath and shower facilities . The family bathroom has a free-standing cast iron bath which fits numerous small children. The bathrooms all have heated towel rails and/or radiators.
